Have the Chickens Come Home to Roost?

As a person who was born and raised in the Caribbean, I often say Americans do not realize what they have. It seems we crave for the failing policies of countries that cannot hold water to what the U.S. has accomplished. Why is that the case? Education, corporations, and many of our cultural norms have been heavily controlled by the political left. As a preacher once warned, if we keep sending our kids to Roman schools and we’re imbibing everything Roman, we shouldn’t be surprised when we all turn out to be Romans.

This has been going on for a while, and now the chickens have come home to roost. Here are four things demonstrating this fact:

The prolific allowance of ungodly media and entertainment in our homes. Hollywood and other ungodly streaming and media organizations have been able to push their immoral and sinful agenda for years and Christians gladly pay for and allow these ideologies in their homes. This has been going on for years without the batting of an eye. The news organizations are not any better. In permitting these ideologies, it is difficult for us to stay simple concerning evil (Romans 16:19) “For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil.” Now there just might be a generation who does not know the Lord and are not willing to follow His word. They have not stayed simple concerning evil.

The apparent unwillingness to address racial issues in the church and sweeping them under the rug instead. It appears for many years now that Bible-believing, Bible-practicing churches have been tone-deaf regarding the racial issues in this nation and the ones that are blatant in our churches. I do not think the church can or should avoid this anymore. It is time for us to get ahead of the culture and back to biblical principles on the matter of race and race relations. It is time for us to adopt a scriptural view of race. The rise of Marxist groups like Black Lives Matter and others may have been prevented if we were dealing with the sin of racism and the racist division in our churches. Let’s start seeing each other the way God sees us. (2 Samuel 16:7)

The Biden/Harris presidency that will push the country more in a socialist direction. As of the writing of this blog, it is still not known what the exact outcome of the elections will be. However, it does look more likely that Joe Biden will be the next president. This will undoubtedly put the agendas of the aforementioned groups in the forefront. I cannot imagine false notions like Critical Race Theory, White Privilege, the abolishing of police and prisons, and other progressive agendas will cause our country to flourish. But still, this may also point to a failure of Christians to be the light and salt that they ought to be. (Matthew 5:13-16)

The lack of Christians being salt and light in an ever increasingly ungodly world. Christians have become comfortable, maybe too comfortable. We enjoy the comfort of our niche and groups. We are content that we and our families are saved. But we have often grossly neglected the lost world which Christ died for. Part of being salt and light is going out there and sharing the gospel. It is getting involved in the messy areas of ministry to win the lost to Him. Yet it is this area of ministry that is most often overlooked. Because of this, we find ourselves living in an increasingly ungodly nation.

Have the chickens come home to roost? Absolutely! Actually, the chickens have been roosting for quite some time now. We are reaping the fruits of it. What is truly needed it a saturation of the gospel, and the turning of hearts and minds to the Lord Jesus Christ in repentant faith. But this will not happen without revival in the hearts of Christians first, followed by a willingness to go in obedience and preach the gospel. (Mark 16.15) “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”
