Here are 3 things that will remain the same after the results are known:
1. The sun will rise the next day. Genesis 8:22 declares “While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.” Praise the Lord that these things are not controlled by our elected representatives in political offices but by the God who sits on His throne. It is the same God who rules in the affairs of men (Psalms 47), who directs the heart of the king (Proverb 21:1), who is “the same yesterday, and today, and for ever.” (Heb 13:8). Praise the Lord for such a blessed hope.
2. The mandate to reach the lost will remain. Our commander in chief, the Lord Jesus Christ, has given us a command with no stipulations attached. He did not command us to reach the lost only if there is no pandemic. He did not command us to reach the lost only when we have the president of our liking, or policies in our favor. He commands us to reach the lost, period! (Mark 16:15). May I encourage you to seek opportunities to reach the lost, through all the chaos of 2020.
3. America will still be in desperate need of revival. In a culture where what God declares to be good and moral is considered evil and what God calls evil is considered good. America is in desperate need of Christians to rise up and be what they ought to be. It needs churches that preach “thus saith the Lord” and stand boldly on the Word of God. It needs Christians who filter their daily decisions through the lens of scripture and not through our current culture. America needs Christians who have understanding of the times. (1 Chronicles 12:32).
After it is all said and done, those of us who know the Truth and practice the Truth still have hope to rejoice. We can rejoice in the finished work of Christ upon the cross of Calvary. We can hope in His promise to return for His own. Until then, we have a world to reach with the glorious message of the gospel.
